Ruach Counselling & Psychotherapy

“When we acknowledge where we come from and begin to understand ourselves— that is where healing begins and meaningful change takes root.”

For as long as I can remember, I have been deeply curious about human behavior, often wondering what lies beneath people's emotions, reactions, and choices. Throughout my life, I have naturally found myself listening, comforting, and encouraging others, whether friends or strangers.

My own experiences with loss—the end of relationships, dreams that did not unfold as hoped, and the death of loved ones—have deeply shaped who I am today. These experiences strengthened my understanding of grief, vulnerability, and emotional resilience, which, together with my professional training, guide the way I approach therapy.

Beyond the clinical setting, Melissa is actively engaged in the Black community, working to help break the stigma surrounding mental health. She initiates courageous conversations, creates safe spaces, and collaborates with community networks to support collective healing rooted in dignity and belonging.

Joy & Personal Life

Outside of her work, Melissa enjoys connecting with loved ones, reading, writing, and drinking copious cups of tea. Her spare time often includes shared meals and good laughter with family and friends while reflecting on the unfolding drama of life. I try to move through each day with intention—making space for exercise, journaling, rest, and prayer while navigating both the joys and challenges that life brings.
